The Origin Story

I have been single dading for almost a year now, and doing my best to take care of, have fun with and love my 3 kids. Part of that is clothing them...we know this.

My girls are pretty easy on their clothes, "pretty" easy. The little one can put a hurt on her clothes, but not nearly as bad as Hudson, my 8 year old.

He, like lots of boys his age, likes to wear comfortable clothes so he can do all the things. Play all the sports. Tackle each other. Catch bugs. Get dirty.

So jeans and heavier-duty canvas type pants are off the table for him. This essentially leaves me with sweat pants and athletic-type clothing. Which checks the comfort box for him, but does not last.

It became a running joke in the house that Hudson would tear a hole in the knee of his pants within like 3-4 weeks of getting new pants. And it just started driving me nuts.

On one hand I want him to play and play hard. That is a huge value for me and our family. But on the other side, I don't want him constantly breaking his stuff and looking like he is homeless.

Piper, my 10 year old and I, joked about making patches to sew on his pants for a few months and calling it Boy Proof or even Hudson Proof clothing.

But after a couple of conversations with friends in Bentonville, I started to explore what it would look like for me to actually have pants, that would hold up to the abuse Hudson (and every other kid on the planet) could put them through.

And Kid Proof Clothing was born.

Because this was born out of a problem that I am trying to solve for my own kid, in my own house, the first product is the The Hudson - Original Jogger. But there will be more products. Because there are other things that kids like to destroy.
